Akasha Yoga Teacher Training Practicum as required by Yoga Alliance. 200 Hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Training:
The style presented is best described as Hatha with a focus on gentle and vinyasa flow (level 1-3). The standard class sequence of warm up, sun salutations, balance series , warrior series, floor poses, backbends, inversions, final twist and svasana will be stressed.
The word “hatha” comes from the Sanskrit terms “ha” meaning “sun” and “tha” meaning “moon”. Thus, Hatha Yoga is known as the branch of Yoga that unites pairs of opposites referring to the positive (sun) and negative (moon) currents in the system. Hatha Yoga tries to achieve balance between body and mind, as well as attempts to free the more subtle spiritual elements of the mind through physical poses or Asanas, Breathing techniques Pranayama, and Meditation. Includes asanas, pranayamas, kriyas, chanting, mantra, meditation and other traditional yoga techniques, principles of demonstration, observation, assisting and correcting, business aspects of teaching yoga. Includes both human physical anatomy and physiology (bodily systems, organs, etc.) and energy anatomy and physiology (chakras, nadis, etc.). Includes both the study of the subject and application of its principles to yoga practice (benefits, contraindications, healthy movement patterns, etc). the study of yoga philosophies, yoga lifestyle and ethics for yoga teachers.

The Journey of the 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training provides a comprehensive learning experience in an intimate (max. 12 students) atmosphere of safety, fun and compassion.
Dig down deep inside as you weave self-study with the study of physical postures, yogic philosophy and spiritual principles. Journey of Yoga helps teachers find their self-confidence and self-awareness, enabling them to find their unique voice and use it to teach this healing art to others.
Through the experiences, lessons and techniques of this established and proven program, you will deepen your personal yoga and meditation practices. You will also refine your understanding of yourself in all levels of body, mind and spirit. Graduates describe a profound shift in their lives toward a greater sense of wholeness and connection.
